			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I really don't want to labour the point but, as I've said elsewhere, Youtube is the second most popular search site after Google. And, if you look at the Google results pages, you'll see that videos are often in the top ten results.</p>
<p>This is great news from an Internet Marketing perspective, the bad news is that it's going to be more difficult to make video work for you with the increasing competition for viewers.</p>
<p>So, if you want to grab the lions share of YouTube viewer's eyeballs, you need to consider what types of video are the most popular.</p>
<p>Let me save you some time by revealing the results from my own research..</p>
<p><strong>1. Humour</strong></p>
<p>If you subscribe to any of the more popular keyword reports such as the weekly report from <a href="http://clicknowtocontinue.com/to/wordtracker" target="_blank">Wordtracker</a>, you'll see that "funny" is consistently a top search term. This is also true in video. Everyone likes a good laugh and there's no rule that says business videos can't be funny or amusing. If you do go the funny route, be aware that not all humour translates into other cultures and be sure that your content is relevant to your target market.</p>
<p><strong>2. Weird</strong></p>
<p>The human race seems to have a morbid curiosity about the weird and wonderful, but weird stuff on video has a tendency to attract large audiences. As with funny videos, "weirdness" is in the eyes of the beholder, so be careful with what you associate with your business brand. I strongly recommend that you look at your videos from a potential customer's perspective <strong>before </strong>you post it for all to see.</p>
<p><strong>3. Inspirational</strong></p>
<p>If you are anything like me, you'll probably get a few emails with links to inspiring videos. I'm something of a quotation addict and I especially like inspirational quotations.. I know I'm not alone! The real benefit of using inpirational videos to promote your business is the association with the positive.</p>
<p><strong>4. Sexy</strong></p>
<p>Well, I guess we all know that sex sells. However, I'm not suggesting that you go beyond what would be published on daytime TV. Using sex to sell a product can get you into dangerous territory. Think very carefully before you even consider going down this route. If you do decide to go ahead, think about framing your message as alluringly seductive.. tease your audience. You'll get much better results than you will with anything overtly explicit.</p>
<p><strong>5. Shock Tactics</strong></p>
<p>Using shock tactics can generate powerful reactions and emotional responses. Traditionally adverts to do with anti-smoking or drink driving have used shock tactics and they are known to produce good results. If you are in an industry where your product offers a preventative solution, then shock tactics could offer you an excellent opportunity to grab your audiences attention.</p>
<p><strong>6. Mysterious</strong></p>
<p>We are all curious to some extent and videos that tap into that curiosity often enjoy a viral effect. Mysteries often generate conversation. Getting your niche audience to talk about your video will be good for business.</p>
<p><strong>7. How To</strong></p>
<p>Anything that demonstrates a solution to a common problem will attract a targeted audience. More and more people are looking for video based answers, it can be much easier to learn by watching than it can be by reading. Creating "How To" videos that demonstrates your products in action is an excellent way of stressing the benefits and it's benefits that sell.</p>
<p>The above list isn't exhaustive but I hope it helps you to think about the type of video which help you to promote your business. It's also important to point out that YouTube isn't the only game in town, ther are lots of other popular video sites out there.</p>
